Suck on this California!!
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire became the sixth state to legalize gay marriage after the Senate and House passed key language on religious rights and Gov. John Lynch — who personally opposes gay marriage — signed the legislation Wednesday afternoon.

Glad to see New Hampshire finally make into the 21st Century. Gov. Lynch makes an excellent point in his statement after siging the bill into law:
Most families in New Hampshire will awaken tomorrow, go to work and to school, and feel no impact from what we have accomplished today.
But for some, they will awaken tomorrow knowing we have said to them that they are equal, that they have the same rights to live and to love as everyone else.
Today is a day to celebrate in New Hampshire. Today should not be considered a victory for some and a loss for others.
Today is a victory for all the people of New Hampshire, who I believe, in our own independent way, want tolerance for all.
That is truly the New Hampshire way.
Catch that first part? “….. and feel no impact from what we have accomplished today.” This rings true. Consider that Massachusetts has has gay marriage for a while now and I don’t see Armageddon happening there (of course, you could argue that even if that happened you really wouldn’t be able to tell the difference
)
So to recap, the two main things I love about gay marriage are:
1) Feels good to see humanity (and America)heading forward into a more tolerant society with the passage of this bill.
2) I absolutely love how this pisses off the Jesus Freaks. Fuck them. Yea churchy, I’m talking to you.
PS – feel free to explain how I’ll be spending the afterlife in hell. I love a good story.

I’m a resident of NH, and I found this pretty unbelievable. Our state’s biggest newspaper has been harassing Lynch for the last month, trying to get enough of the redneck and/or Bible thumping types to convince him not to sign. It’ll be fun to read the paper tomorrow morning.

It’s funny to see and hear all the talk about how he’s been wishy washy and not keeping his promises, yet he still has a huge approval rating. Curious if we’ll see a Prop 8 style petition comes forward. Truthfully, I think people just don’t care enough to bother repealing it. It’s the Fundies that are in an uproar about it.
