We’re supposed to have learned a lesson or two in the last 50 years but in your apparent lust for 1880 you’ve missed the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the master class in capitalism being put on by China and the appendix in your civics textbook that mentioned the difference between economic and governmental systems.
So I’ll skip the full education you apparently missed and point out that your rabid Fox-News-inspired chants and rants against “socialism” are at best misguided and at worst the most hypocritical public posture since compassionate conservatism.

Let’s walk in your shoes for a minute. Let’s look at your forty hour work week and your Wednesday night deacons meeting and Webelos on Tuesdays and Church on Sundays. Community organizing and socialism. Every bit of it. When you plan that servant evangelism food handout for next Saturday what is that but a handout to the less fortunate?
When you drop your ten percent in the collection plate on Sunday what is that but socialism? Are you not pooling your money with others to benefit the greater good?
Of course you are. But then you can ensure that the socialism that YOU are participating in don’t go to none of them queers or libruls or (brown) illegal immigrants.
